Sam Springer

On 27th April 2003 we went to a dog breeder with the intention of choosing a black labrador puppy. The labs were smashing but the lady below insisted we took her home instead. So, what could we do?

She is an English springer spaniel whos registered name is Mandarin Marvel. Her 'aka' name was Snipe but she wasn't answering to it so we decided to change it.... Well, she's a springer and our boat is a Springer, so we named her Sam (as in Samantha). For those not of a boating persuasion, Sam Springer built many narrowboats, including ours, in the 70's, 80's and early 90's.
