Between the two lock chambers, a swing bridge carries a minor road over the canal:-

Soon, the end of the line for hire craft is reached - Benavie Locks AKA Neptune's Staircase:-

From here, it is but a short taxi ride to Fort William. This early evening shot, taken from the top of Neptune's Staircase, shows Fort William to the left and Loch Linnhe in the distance.
