Loch Oich
After passing through Cullochy Lock, we soon arrived at Abercalder swing bridge. As Loch Oich is part of a hydro-electric scheme, the water level is subject to fluctuation and boats must not pass without the bridge keepers instruction. On this occasion, the bridge keeper beckoned us on - we passed through and onto the Loch:-

Loch Oich requires some care to navigate - the channel is narrow in places but is well marked with posts and buoys.

About half way along the 5 mile long loch are the ruins of Invergarry Castle:-

The loch is pretty and well endowed with facilities and thus popular. We decided to press on though and after the bridge keeper at Laggan swing bridge beckoned us through, we entered Laggan Avenue:-

Even the straight, man-made cuts have a charm all of their own. At the end of the Avenue are Laggan Locks.......
